Hereditary stonemasons shape raw stone using traditional steel hand chisels and lapidary grinding wheels. Every inlay recess is carved to sub-millimeter depth to receive hand-cut semi-precious stone mineral tiles.
Artisans cut lapis lazuli, malachite, jasper, and mother of pearl into minute floral motifs. Each mineral shard is ground against a wooden lapidary wheel until it fits snugly into the chiseled marble recess without visible seams.
After setting with natural mineral mastic, the stone surface undergoes multi-stage hand polishing using water and fine emery powders, revealing a mirror polish that highlights natural marble veining.
